The villa is situated in the old settlement of Zouridi, within the borders of the municipality of Rethymno and constitutes part of Rethymno's northwest complex of traditional settlements, such as Argiroupoli and its natural springs, Episkopi, Roustika, Ag. Konstantinos, etc. The old settlement is a small village with few residents and it is at 254 meters altitude from the sea's level. The whole surrounding area is a totally quiet natural environment ideal for relaxing but also being very close to all kind of supplies shops, restaurants and services.

12 km away from the villa, there is the closest beach of Episkopi which is one of the best sandy beaches of the north coast with many beach bars and taverns. The beach Episkopi took its name after the homonymous village (Episkopi), which is only 9.5 km away from our villa. The village of Episkopi has shops, traditional taverns, cafes and some supermarkets for your supplies. Additionally the neighbouring smaller village of Agios Konstadinos (1.4 km) and Agios Andreas (7.3 km) also have some shops and restaurants.

According to the location, you can easily visit Argiroupoli village which is only 13 km away, a well-known village for the small spring waterfalls and the amount of the great, traditional taverns under the big trees! Also you must visit Kournas Lake, which is 24 km away from the villa and it is the only natural freshwater lake in Crete.

Consequently the villa's distance from the main roadway Chania-Rethymno-Heraklion is at 12 km where someone can easily have access to the town of Rethymno (20 km), to the secondary roadway that connects north with south Rethymno, as well as to both airports of Crete (Chania at 66 km and Heraklion at 102 km). South part of the municipality of Rethymno and generally all the south part of Crete, features the best and more pure beaches of the island. The closest organized south beach is that of Plakias at 40 km. The majority of tavernas on the south part are good, with authentic cretan food.

The closest beaches to the villa that we suggest you to visit are: <br/>
- Episkopi (12 km): The sea in this area is regarded to be the cleanest and most beautiful on the north coast. Even in the high summer season, you can easily find a secluded spot on your own or a strip with sun beds and parasols, if that is what you prefer. There are several taverns and beach bars directly on the beach which they all are very popular to the locals and they are quite lively during the week-ends. 

- Georgioupoli (20 km): With pure sand and clean, shallow waters, Giorgioupolis beach is fully organized with sun beds, umbrellas, lifeguard and tavernas all around. The highlight of the area is Kournas Lake and the sweet water bursting from various spots on the beach. Do not miss out to have a walk up to Perastikos river, which divides the beach into two. At the point where Perastikos ends up to the sea, the waters are very cool and the vegetation around are unique. Take care of the sea currents and the waves on windy days.

- Rethymno (20 km): Organised sandy beach more than 20 km long, stretching from the town of Rethymno in an easterly direction towards the areas of Perivolia, Platanes, Adelianos Kampos, and Skaleta. You can find organised spots with sun beds, water sports facilities and beach bars or secluded quiet spots.

- Panormos (41.7 km): This coastal village is situated 20 km east of Rethymno. It boasts an organised beach as well as a variety of tavernas right by the sea.

- Bali (51.6 km): Nestling in the surrounding mountains of the bay of Bali you will find the coastal village of the same name 34 km east of Rethymno. Visitors may choose from which of the small inlets to enjoy bathing at organised sandy beaches. The area offers a large number of tavernas and shops.

Furthermore, On the South coast of the island you can also discover some of Crete’s most amazing natural beaches such as “Schinaria”, “Damnoni”, “Triopetra”, “Agios Pavlos” and "Preveli". The distance to the South coast from the villa is about 40 minutes by car and all the above beaches are located near to Plakias village where you can find shops and many taverns.
